Human Influence on Graslands.
Humans have influenced grasslands in many was, deliberately and advertently. We set fires to on purpose to keep the grassland, a grassland. In other words, so that soil succession doesn't go too far, and turn the grassland into a forest. Another way is that we use some grasslands for farming, that helps it stay healthy. There are also a couple bad influences on a grassland by humans.Like, some of the fires we set get to big, and burn more than needed. Also, we fence off pieces of it, preventing natural migration of animals. We have also hunted ALOT of bison, infact, they are almost extinct. There is about 50% left of the natural grasslands in the world, but there is one way that environmentalists have preserved what's left. They build national parks and wildlife preserves to keep what's left away from humans. The national parks aract more peaople to that area, and keep people away from other spots. (emucomboy,1)
As you can see, humans have influenced grasslands alot. That is why human's land and different biomes and animals have been seperated from eachother, by biodiversity. Biodiversity is the variety of species, their genetic make-up, and the natural communities in which they occur; in other words everyone has their own space. Biodiversity is important because if other animals and plants stay alive, we stay alive. The air we breathe is the product of photosynthesis by plants. Almost 30 percent of medicines are developed from plants and animals, and more than 90% of the calories consumed by people worldwide are produced by 80 plant species. (PBP,1)
