The Carbon Cycle
The carbon cycle is the biogeochemical cycle by which carbon is exchanged among the biosphere, pedosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere of the Earth. It is one of the most important cycles of the Earth and allows for carbon to be recycled and reused throughout the biosphere and all of its organisms. It is importants because if it didn't happen, there would be no transportation of carbon around the grassland, or any other biome (Holmes,1) The difference between the flow of matter and the flow of energy within the ecosystem is that unlike the one-way flow of energy, matter is within and between ecosystems.
